Slough Talking Newspaper is a voluntary audio news service that transcribes local newspapers, such as the Slough Observer and Slough Express, into audible format; that is, we narrate the news and record it onto audio tapes. Once you become a listener, the recordings are delivered free to you door every week. Returning the tape is free and easy too/
We also record a monthly magazine tape with short stories, interesting interviews, readings and information to help sighted impaired people.
Postage is completely free for all blind and visually impaired, thanks to the Royal Mail.
As well as Slough itself we distribute tapes to Burnham, Farnham, Farnham Royal, Farnham common, Wexham, Stokes Poges, Iver, Langley, Datchest and Colnbrook.
Charitable Status
Our objective is to make life easier for people who are unable to read printed news, whether it is because of sight problems or other physical difficulties. All our staff are volunteers who provide quality and reliable audio news you can count on. In addition, we are here to answer any questions you may have.
